RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has underscored the evolving nature of modern warfare and the increasingly complex maritime security environment, highlighting the need for adaptive and forward-looking strategies.
Addressing the participants of the 55th PN Staff Course at the Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, he emphasised that contemporary security challenges encompass both conventional and non-conventional threats, requiring enhanced preparedness, innovation and a comprehensive approach to safeguarding national and regional maritime interests.
The naval chief underscored that future wars necessitated a reappraisal of traditional warfighting paradigms, coupled with the development of a technologically adept and intellectually robust workforce, according to a statement issued by the ISPR.
He reaffirmed the navy’s resolve towards modernisation, indigenisation and jointness, urging participants to enhance their strategic acumen and operational foresight. The admiral noted that the Indian Ocean Region remained fluid and contested, with shifting geopolitical dynamics and power rivalries impacting the regional security environment.
