LAHORE: South Korea’s national hockey team will hold a training camp in Islamabad from July 27 to Aug 9 besides playing some practice matches against Pakistan during its stay in the country, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said on Wednesday.
According to an announcement made by the PHF, the 25-member Korean squad will comprise 20 players and five officials.
“The South Korean team selected Pakistan as the venue for its practice which proves the country has the best training facilities in Islamabad,” the PHF added.
Earlier, the PHF had invited the South Korean team to play three Test matches, one in Lahore and two in Islamabad. However, that tour has now been turned into a two-week training camp. South Korea are scheduled to participate in the Asian Games being held in Japan in September this year while Pakistan will compete in the FIH World Cup being co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands in August before featuring in the Asian Games.
