Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan remains “committed to working closely with Iran for the peace, progress and prosperity” of the two nations as well as the broader region.
After Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Pakistan, the prime minister in a social media post on X said: “We held warm and most cordial discussions wherein we reaffirmed our shared commitment to regional peace and the importance of pursuing dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all outstanding issues.”
Sharing the details of the meeting with his Iranian counterpart, PM Shehbaz said, “We also agreed to further strengthen the enduring Pakistan-Iran relationship and expand cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.”
He thanked the Iranian leadership for “reposing its abiding trust in Pakistan as a sincere friend, neighbour and mediator”.
