Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has expressed his country’s full support for the US-Iran peace process during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen, according to the Qatari foreign ministry.

According to a statement, the latest regional developments have been discussed, particularly diplomatic efforts to enhance regional security following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

“His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed, during the meeting, the State of Qatar’s full support for the ongoing negotiations between the American and Iranian sides, to reach sustainable solutions to the outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, which would enhance regional security, contribute to opening new horizons for cooperation, development, and prosperity, and achieve the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world,” the statement adds.
