Two boys drown near Fatehjang

TAXILA: Two young boys drowned while bathing in a rain-fed stream in Pind Jangal village near Fatehjang town of Attock on Monday, rescue and hospital sources said.

Sources said some friends from the village went to the local stream for bathing where 10-year-old Waqas went into deep waters and started drowning. Looking for his friend in distress, 14-year-old Tayyab went to rescue him but he also lost control and drowned.

Looking them in distress, the other children voiced alarm, subsequently people gathered there informed local Rescue 1122 teams. After hectic efforts and utilizing specialized water rescue team, the body of Tayyab was retrieved and shifted to tehsil headquarters Fatehjang for medico-legal formalities.
