SUKKUR, July 11: The Dera Sarki police has booked 513 people, including People’s Party MNA Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Pir of Bharchoondi Mian Abdul Khaliq, Thull Taluka Nazim Ghulam Akbar Banglani, for holding a jirga in village Haji Kamal Magsi near Thull on May 27, 2006, to resolve a karo-kari dispute.

The jirga helped settled the dispute for five innocent girls given in marriage to the victim party.

However, following the suo moto action taken by the Supreme Court, the DPO Kashmore conducted an inquiry in the issue and the Dera Sarki police on Tuesday registered a case No: 38/2006 under sections 310-A, 201, 107,108,109, 114, 118, 468, 471 and 34 PPC, against 513 persons.

Complainant Dera Sarki SHO Ghulam Mustafa Abro nominated 13 people in the case and 500 others attending the jirga.

Others nominated in the FIR are Ghulam Rasool Banglani, Dadan Nandwani, Syed Jalil Shah, Ghulam Rabbani Banglani, Yar Ali Banglani, Qamar Din Banglani, Habibullah Banglani, Hafiz Jalil, Dad Mohammad and Rehmatullah Banglani.

Police have arrested Yar Ali Banglani, Qamar Din Banglani and Rehmatullah Banglani while raids were under way for the arrest of the remaining accused.
