AIR QUALITY: The menace of air pollution is choking Karachi day and night, especially in industrial areas like Korangi Landhi and others. Factories continue to release toxic smoke, old vehicles continue to spew carbon fumes, and burning trash continues to be a routine activity. Recent air quality monitoring data suggests Karachi’s air quality index (AQI) frequently crosses 200, which is hazardous for everyone, especially children and the elderly. The authorities concerned must strictly enforce factory emission laws, discourage trash burning with heavy fines, and promote public transport in the city. On their part, citizens must stop burning garbage and report violations.

FAKE NEWS: Many of the news reports that appear on social networks are based on content generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). In the past, news sources were limited and there was enough time to verify information. However, the situation has changed today. Social media is now flooded with news, videos and posts, many of which raise questions about their authenticity. In such an environment, it is no longer enough for journalists to simply report the news; verifying every piece of infor-mation has become a major responsibility and burden. Fake news, AI-generated content, and the race to be the first to break the news have created massive challenges for both journalists and media houses .

CONGESTED ROAD: The Jail Road is one of the most congested routes in Karachi, with heavy traffic throughout the day, especially during peak hours. Thousands of vehicles pass through it daily, often causing lengthy traffic jams and slow movement. Poor traffic management and increasing vehicle load make the situation worse. Commuters, including students and office workers, face delays and frustration while using this route. Better planning, road maintenance and traffic control are needed to reduce con-gestion and improve travel on the road.
