PESHAWAR: Pakistan Air Force’s air defence system neutralised a drone of the Afghan Taliban after it intruded into Pakistan’s airspace in Khyber district, security sources said.
The Afghan Taliban regime, through their various propaganda mouthpieces and official statements, claimed to have targeted some alleged Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) camps in border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa using rudimentary drones.
“The claims are false as usual. Terrorist camps, including that of Daesh and more than two dozen other terrorist organisations, are factually located, run and patronised from inside the territories under control of the Afghan Taliban,” the security sources said.
They stated that to cover their patronisation of terror waged in neighbouring countries and the region, including that from Daesh and other terror organisations, the Taliban regime was used to issue such fake and nefarious statements.
“One rudimentary drone of the Taliban regime intruded into Pakistan airspace near Shinko, Khyber. It was immediately identified and neutralised,” they said, adding that it was the first of its kind but was successfully neutralised by the air defence system.
