RAWALPINDI: Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has decided to strengthen alumni participation and update the alumni database in each department.

A meeting regarding the revival and strengthening of alumni relations was held today under the chairmanship of the university Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Qamaruz Zaman at PMAS-Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.

The meeting was attended by the director of financial assistance, director of quality Enhancement and representatives from all faculties, institutes, departments and administrative units of the University.

The VC emphasised the vital role of alumni as ambassadors of the university and highlighted the need for establishing strong and sustainable connections with graduates across the country and abroad.

During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that every department and institute will designate a focal person responsible for alumni engagement, communication and creation of an alumni scholarship and student support fund.

It was directed to organise an annual alumni dinner, reunion, seminar or networking event to foster professional, academic and social interaction between current students and graduates.
