BANNU: Bodies of four persons were recovered from the Nala Kasho area along the Domel Link Road in Bannu district on Tuesday, the police said.

Domel police claimed the victims were shot dead by unidentified assailants.

They said that the deceased were identified as Abdul Rauf alias Kaka Waziristani, his two sons and a nephew. Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the hospital for legal formalities.

The police registered a case on the complaint of the SHO Domel, and were investigating the incident from multiple angles.

Officials said that evidence was being collected to determine the motive behind the killings and to identify those involved.

Local sources said that Rauf was believed to be a supporter of the security institutions. However, there was no official confirmation or statement from the authorities regarding this claim.

The police said that further details would be shared once the investigation was completed.

Meanwhile, two residents of the Pirat Kalla Mamakhel area of Bannu have publicly disassociated themselves from missing relatives after being informed by police that the latter were allegedly involved in anti-state activities.

Speaking at a news conference at Bannu Press Club, Akhtar Ali Khan said that he formally disowned his son, Javed, who had been missing for the past nine months, and was recently reported by the police to be involved in anti-state activities.

Similarly, Mohammad Zubair Khan said his 14-year-old orphaned nephew, Abdullah, had also been missing for the same period and was allegedly found involved in anti-state activities. He likewise announced complete dissociation from his nephew.

Both men said they had filed missing person reports soon after their dear ones disappeared and appealed to the authorities not to harass their families, stressing that they neither support nor bear responsibility for any alleged unlawful activities.
