MOHMAND: A fire broke out in the mountainous range of Qila Gai in the Safi tehsil of Mohmand district on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the district control room dispatched a team of firefighters to the affected area on the directives of District Emergency Officer Eng Khaliq Dad soon after receiving information about the incident.

Due to the rugged terrain and inaccessibility of fire tenders, rescue personnel had to travel on foot to reach the site. Upon arrival, they launched an operation to contain the blaze.

Officials said that Rescue 1122 firefighters had been engaged in continuous operations for more than an hour and were employing smothering techniques to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
