RAWALPINDI: The People’s Government has been and will continue to fully protect the rights of the minority communities and do everything possible to solve their problems, Maulana Kausar Niazi said here today [June 12]. In his presidential address on the conclusion of the second session of the minorities conference, the Minister said minorities in Pakistan were fully satisfied and are far better off than some religious and racial groups in some so-called civilised societies. In this connection, he cited the discrimination and violation against immigrants in Britain and some other Western countries. He also made mention of racial hatred prevailing in countries dominated by white population.

Maulana Kausar Niazi said Pakistan had no problems like untouchability or intolerance. Is it not a fact that no communal clash has taken place in Pakistan since its creation? he asked. He said life and properties of minorities were completely safe in Pakistan. All those living in Pakistan are waves of the same river, limbs of the same body, flowers of the same bouquet. Any civilised human being should not hate a fellow human being. These are Islam’s cardinal principles.
