KARACHI, July 8: Within a month after the launch of Margalla and Marvi, Pakistan Railways is going to launch another non-stop train between Karachi and Lahore on July 24.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said at a press conference here on Saturday that the new train, Sindh Express, will complete its journey in 15 hours.

The minister outlined the measures taken for increasing the railways’ earnings and said that within two months the revenue had increased by Rs250 million.

He referred to a campaign launched five days ago against ticketless travel and said this had resulted in recovery of Rs400,000 a day.

He announced plans for running bullet trains between Rawalpindi and Lahore, Hyderabad and Karachi, Multan and Faisalabad and Faisalabad amd Lahore and said that a French company had offered a bid for laying tracks for the purpose.—APP
