RAWALPINDI: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has been asked by the police to investigate a case in which an eleven-member gang, including two foreigners, was arrested for allegedly uploading pornographic and obscene videos through live streaming on pornographic websites.

Police also claimed to have recovered pistols and ammunition during the raid, a police spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, Rawat police carried out a major operation and arrested a gang allegedly involved in sharing obscene and indecent videos through online live streaming on pornographic websites.

During the raid, eleven persons, including two foreigners and seven women, were arrested. Pistols and ammunition were also recovered from the spot.

Rawat police also recovered mobile phones, laptops and other devices allegedly used for live streaming. The arrested persons were reportedly uploading obscene videos on various websites, the spokesman said.

A case has been registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Mohammad Bilal, and all the suspects have been arrested. Major revelations are expected during the investigation. Efforts are also underway to arrest other gang members and facilitators.

“The scope of the investigation is being expanded by contacting the NCCIA regarding the case,” the spokesman said.

According to the FIR, the police raid was conducted after receiving intelligence that a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case was hiding in a house.

The raid was conducted shortly after midnight, at around 1:15am. The proclaimed offender, who was wanted by the police, managed to escape. However, police found seven men and three women allegedly engaged in uploading pornographic and obscene videos through live streaming on pornographic websites, while another person was found standing on a live-streaming stage.
