LAHORE: Acting CJP takes oath

LAHORE, Feb 9: Justice Munir A Sheikh of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, was sworn in here on Saturday as the acting chief justice of Pakistan.

Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry administered the oath of office.

Serving and retired judges of the Supreme Court, deputy attorney generals, the Punjab advocate general, law officers, the Lahore High Court Bar Associ-ation president and SC officers and staff attended the ceremony.

Justice Munir A Sheikh will act as the CJP during the period Justice Sheikh Riaz Ahmad remains the acting president in view of the US visit of President Gen Pervez Musharraf. — Reporter
