Flour mills labourer dies

TAXILA: A labourer died due to a lack of safety measures in a flour mill located in Bhattar industrial estate in the limits of the same police station.

Police sources said Muhammad Basharat, a native of Muzaffarabad, was working at a local flour mill. He came under a packing machine due to lack of safety measures and died of injuries.

His body was dispatched to his native town after an autopsy at THQ hospital, Taxila. Wah Saddar Police launched further investigation.

Man strangles wife

Separately, a man has allegedly strangled his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Sabri Street in the Muneerabad area in the same police station limits on Wednesday, police sources said.

Police sources said that 24-year-old Umer Shahzad married 38-year-old Rakhshanda Bibi some months ago, and they were living in a rented house. The victim’s sister has reported to the police that the relationship between the couple was not smooth.

On Wednesday, Umer allegedly strangled his wife to death after an exchange of hot words. Police handed over the body for burial after an autopsy at THQ hospital, Taxila and arrested the nominated accused.
