C&W dept officer dies after falling into Chitral ravine

CHITRAL: An executive engineer of the communication and works department died after falling into a ravine near Reshun village in Upper Chitral here on Wednesday morning.

An official of Rescue 1122 said that Ziaur Rehman was heading to Booni town, the district headquarters of Upper Chitral, early in the morning when he slipped and fell into the ravine.

The official said that as the road in the Shader area was blocked, he parked his vehicle there, and was passing by a stationary truck when he slipped and fell into the gorge.

The official said that a rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured official to Booni Medical Centre, from where he was referred to Peshawar due to head injury. The official said that Mr Rehman succumbed to head injuries in the hospital. His body was shifted to his native Karak district.
