LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims that two Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) members have been killed in crossfiring in the Koh-i-Sulaiman area of DG Khan district.

A CTD spokesperson said that intelligence reports were received about the presence of 15 suspected TTP terrorists in the Tuman Qaisrani tribal area of DG Khan. He claimed the suspects were planning to carry out attacks in the Koh-i-Sulaiman tehsil, Vohwa and Taunsa.

He said that a CTD team armed with the latest weapons approached the Kachi Goro-Lakhni mountain region, where the suspects opened fire at the team, which was retaliated. He said that two unidentified suspected terrorists were found dead while two others, who were injured in the firing, fled the scene with their accomplices.

He said that efforts were being made to identify the suspected terrorists and a search and sweep operation was launched to arrest their absconding accomplices.
