ISLAMABAD: The launching ceremony of a book, “Tareemat Katha”, authored by writer, journalist and president of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Dr Sadia Kamal was held here on Thursday.

Literary figures, educationists, journalists, librarians, students, and book enthusiasts attended the event organised by the Department of Libraries Islamabad.

Ishrat Naseem and Ghulam Abbas, librarians at the Department of Libraries, shed light on the book’s various literary and social dimensions.

Prominent researcher and critic, Dr Wajid Tabassum, presented a review of the book, praising the author’s creative prowess and her significant contributions to Urdu literature. He noted that “Tareemat Katha” effectively mirrored the social, economic, and cultural challenges faced by women, portraying their emotions, struggles, and experiences with profound sensitivity. He said the book not only invited reflection on women’s rights and status but also had the potential to play a pivotal role in promoting awareness and positive change in society.

Dr Sadia Kamal discussed the background of the book’s creation, its core themes, and her personal literary journey. She described “Tareemat Katha” as essentially a chronicle of the issues women faced in society, highlighting their struggles, deprivations, and triumphs. She expressed hope that the book would help readers better understand women’s issues and inspire a positive mindset toward resolving them.
