RAWALPINDI: A woman patient in the District Headquarters Hospital ward (DHQ) was deprived of her gold jewellery and a cell phone on Tuesday. The woman, a resident of Dhoke Lalyal, complained to the Gunjmandi police that she was admitted in the surgical ward of the District Headquarters Hospital when an unidentified person came to her posing as para medical staff and suggested to her that her ultra-sound test was required for her treatment.

After asking her to proceed to the ultrasound section, he took her gold earrings and cell phone into his possession and then disappeared from the scene. Following her complaint, the police have registered an FIR and initiated investigation.

Murder

A man was gunned down allegedly by his rival in the limits of R.A Bazar police on Wednesday, police said. Nauman Naveed, 35, a resident of Arohra was passing through the street when was targeted and killed allegedly by his rival.

The bullet passed through his arm and entered his abdomen injuring him critically. Police said the injured was being shifted to the DHQ hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The motive behind the murder was old enmity, police said.
