TOBA TEK SINGH: A worker died and two others sustained serious injuries when the roof of an under-construction animal shed collapsed near Amanat Town Bazaar in Khurrianwala, Faisala-bad, on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said work was underway on the shed roof when a girder suddenly slipped, causing the entire structure to cave in and bury the workers under the debris.

Rescuers removed the rubble and pulled out the trapped workers. One of them, Muhammad Shahbaz (50) of Jaranwala, died after being buried under mud and debris.

The injured workers identified as Muhammad Iqbal (42) of Lathianwala and Sultan Ahmad (27) were shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition.
