LAHORE: Pakistan recorded a facile 5-2 victory over Bangladesh to qualify for the U-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament semi-final in Kakamigahara, Japan on Wednesday.

Pakistan face arch-rivals India in the semi-final on Friday.

Prior to the Bangladesh match, Pakistan in their opening game of the event had beaten China 3-0 before losing to Malaysia 3-2.

Pakistan opened the scoring early in the game, with Abdullah netting a brace. Adeel, Asam and Mohammad Yahya chipped in with one goal each.

For Bangladesh, Tarikul Islam and Manna Islam scored for Bangladesh.

Yahya was named the player-of-the-match.
