UMERKOT: Police have arrested a Grade-18 government officer, who also runs his own tuition academy, for allegedly molesting a girl. A video went viral on social media showed the man sexually harassing a girl inside his tuition centre.

According to an order issued by Umerkot SSP Suhai Aziz, “On June 3, a video has gone viral on social media allegedly showing a girl being sexually assaulted by a private tutor at a tuition centre in Umerkot City.

In this regard a special team has been constituted to enquire about the matter, find out the real cause of the incident, verify the facts through technical assistance and other reliable sources.”

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah took notice of the incident and contacted the SSP for details, stressing the need for a transparent investigation.

However, the suspect’s wife claimed that her husband had previously intervened to stop the underage girl from being married off, suggesting the current episode may be linked to that earlier dispute.
