LAHORE: Pakistan men’s football team head coach Nolberto Solano on Friday named a 23-member squad for the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament, which will be held in Male from June 1-10.
Pakistan are scheduled to depart for the Maldives on Saturday for the four-nation event, which also features hosts Maldives, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Pakistan will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on June 1 before taking on Maldives on June 4 and Afghanistan on June 7. The final is set to be played on June 10 at the National Football Stadium in Male.
The squad includes the return of several experienced internationals, including goalkeeper Yousuf Butt, defender Easah Suliman and players Mamoon Moosa, Mohammad Fazal, Ali Shah and Ali Niazi.
Midfielder Adil Nabi has also been included in the final squad, while Ali Khan has earned his maiden call-up to the senior national team.
