RAWALPINDI: More than 60,000 vehicles entered Murree since the first day of Eidul Azha.

Chief Traffic Officer Murree Munir Ahmed Hashmi said that tourists continued to arrive in Murree on Friday – the third day of Eidul Azha. He said 200 traffic wardens had been performing duty in the area.

The CTO said that tourists should avoid double lanes, improper and wrong parking. They should park their vehicles only at designated spaces to avoid inconvenience.

He said that due to the “excellent strategy” and effective implementation of traffic plan, no untoward incident occurred during Eid holidays and vehicular flow remained normal.

For help and guidance, tourists should contact the helpline 051-9269200, a spokesman for the City Traffic Police Murree said.

Meanwhile, 513 emergencies, including deaths of two people and injuries to more than 100 others in 107 road traffic accidents and 30 fire incidents, were reported to Rescue 1122 during Eidul Azha in the Rawalpindi district.

A spokesman for the emergency services said that it responded to 513 emergencies during, adding 464 patients and victims were rescued in a timely manner. He said that timely medical assistance was provided to citizens in 294 medical emergencies, 30 fire incidents were controlled through effective response Furthermore, Rescue 1122 conducted 13 rescue operations.

The spokesman said that Rescue 1122 is on alert to provide quality emergency services to citizens.
