Local JUI leader shot dead in Dera Murad Jamali

DERA MURAD JAMALI: A local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Dera Murad Jamali on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred in Sharqi area where some unknown gunmen opened fire on Maulvi Abdul Rahman, son of Lal Khan Sasoli, killing him on the spot.

Police rushed to the area and shifted the body of the JUI leader to a hospital.

After completion of necessary procedures, the body of the JUI leader was handed over to family members of Maulvi Rahman.

Police said further investigation into the killing was under way and efforts were being made to trace attackers.
