CHITRAL: Tens of thousands of Ismaili community members gathered in Upper Chitral on Saturday to catch a glimpse of their spiritual leader Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V during his maiden visit to Pakistan.

Flying in from Gilgit-Baltistan, the spiritual leader landed at a specially decorated congregation ground (deedar gah) in Parwak village near Mastuj town.

Upon arrival, he was warmly received by Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran, District Police Officer Hameedullah and the president of the Ismaili Regional Council, Imtiaz Alam.

Addressing the gathering, Aga Khan emphasised steadfast faith in Almighty Allah, the Creator of the universe.

He reminded his followers that divine guidance was always accessible, particularly during hardship, uncertainty and anxiety.

He also stressed the importance of following in the footsteps of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

He said that finality of the prophethood was the cornerstone of Islam, noting that Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) practically demonstrated the message of Allah by acting upon every word of the Holy Quran.

Turning his attention to the younger generation, Aga Khan highlighted the distinct challenges and uncertainties defining the modern world.

He advised the youth to think globally, comprehend rapidly evolving global realities and proactively prepare for the future through continuous learning.

Education, he urged, should be pursued not merely for academic credentials, but as a tool to develop a deeper understanding of life, foster personal growth and expand global awareness.

He expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and its various administrative institutions for their support of the Ismaili community and for helping maintain an environment that promotes social harmony throughout the country.

Following his address, Prince Rahim flew back to the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan.
