FAISALABAD, July 5: Three minor brothers were crushed to death by a speeding wagon near Haveli Road on Wednesday in Chiniot, Jhang district.

Nasir Abbas (12), Zeeshan (6) and Shahid Ali (4) were going to bazaar by a bicycle when the speeding wagon hit them. They sustained serious head and chest wounds and died on their way to hospital. The driver managed to escape from the scene.

REJECTED: A local anti-corruption judge rejected the bail application of a Jinnah Town TMO on Wednesday.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment presented TMO Khalid Raju before court after the accused moved the bail application.

The counsel for the accused pleaded that Khalid Raju, implicated in a politically motivated false case of corruption, should be released on bail.

Defending the ACE, the prosecuting officer said that the accused was caught red-handed while taking bribe from suspended encroachment inspector Nasir Baig and was booked under the law. The court, after hearing of the case, rejected the bail application of the accused.

ACE circle officer Babar Anwar, accompanied by judicial magistrate Ghulam Fareed Qureshi, on June 21 had raided TMO’s office and caught him taking Rs25,000 in bribe from the suspended encroachment inspector for restoring his services.
