ISLAMABAD, July 5: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Wednesday announced an increase of Rs1,500 in the salaries of the CDA’s daily wage workers.

“They will receive Rs4,500 per month instead of Rs3,000 they are currently drawing,” he said.

Addressing launching ceremony of a road project the minister urged the CDA officials and contractors to deliver with more devotion and honesty for the timely completion of development projects.

“The CDA has been directed to hire a consultant for every project of above Rs100 million and now the consultants will be responsible for keeping check on the construction work of the project,” he said.

The minister said the government wanted to make Islamabad a model city and had allocated huge funds for the development of the federal capital.

He said increase in the CDA budget during last three years was much more than that of last 20 years.
