Speaking at a press conference in Sweden, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said “there’s been some slight progress” towards a deal with Iran, but “I don’t want to exaggerate it,” Al Jazeera reports.
“There’s been a little bit of movement and that’s good,” said Rubio.
“The fundamentals remain the same: Iran can never have a nuclear weapon,” he said, adding that the US would have to address the issue of Iran’s highly enriched uranium.
Rubio is in Helsingborg, Sweden for a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation meeting.
