KARACHI: A man was killed and his two sons were injured when a recklessly driven dumper truck hit their motorcycle in North Karachi on Thursday, police and rescue services officials said.

The police said that Azeem Ibrar, 55, and his two sons — Tauheed, 30, and Moiz, 18 — were travelling on a motorcycle when the heavy vehicle hit them near Do Minute Chowrangi.

They sustained critical injuries and were transported to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Azeem died during treatment. The condition of his sons was stated to be out of danger.

Bilal Colony SHO Rao Shabbir said the dumper driver managed to escape from the spot along with the heavy vehicle. The officer attributed negligent driving as probable cause of the fatal incident.
