ISLAMABAD: Public sector schools and colleges of Islamabad will observe summer vacations from May 25 to July 31, 2016.

According to a notification issued by Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), summer vacation in schools and colleges will begin on May 25 and continue until July 31. The educational institutions will reopen on August 3, 2026.

The notification further stated that a two-week Summer Fiesta will also be organised, commencing from June 15.

The notification added that to ensure the timely completion of the syllabus coaching classes for Grades IX to X shall be arranged in each institution during the month of June or July by engaging only the required faculty. “These classes may also be conducted through the digital hub connected classroom in the institutions, with the live classes in June and recorded sessions in July,” read the notification, stating that classes for undergraduate students (BS and ADP) shall continue as per the academic schedule/semester calendar.

The notification stated that training sessions for teachers will also be held during summer vacation, while repair and maintenance activities in the institutions shall be carried out along with stock checking during the summer vacation.
