KARACHI, July 5: Four vessels to offload containers, edible oil, sugar and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, one more container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berths occupancy stood at 89pc as eight ships were occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, diesel oil, edible oil, sugar, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 93,771 tons comprising 61,848 tons of import and 31,923 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Oversea Harriette, Opal, Yanaseni and Warbah left the port while Nedlloyd Muscat was due to depart.

Two ships, Al-Manakh and Al-Maqwa, with containers and diesel oil were expected to arrive at the port on Thursday.
