New football manager

LAHORE, July 4: Irfan Niazi has been appointed as manager of the Pakistan football team in place of Ahsan Gilani. Niazi will hold the office till December 31. His first assignment will be against Oman in the 14th Asian Cup qualifier at Jonah Stadium, Islamabad on Aug 16.

The new manager will then look after the under-23 team in the 10th South Asian Games scheduled to be held from Aug 15 to 27 in Sri Lanka.

His last assignment will be Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar in December.
