BAHAWALPUR: The Vehari police have rejected reported claims of ‘Cocaine queen’ Anmol alias Pinky that her network of drug trafficking also operated in this South Punjab district.

Her claim, based on Karachi police probe, was aired by some TV channels on Friday.

The district police officer spokesman Adnan Tariq said the DPO had taken serious notice of Pinky’s “attempt to defame the district where an organised drive against drug pushers had just ended.”

He said hundreds of such traffickers had been sent behind bars. “A thorough checking of police record and scrutiny of history sheeters was conducted but there was no Pinky agent.”

He vowed that the police campaign against drug traffickers would continue across the district.
