ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) announced administrative reforms on Friday aimed at improving sports governance and easing procedures for athletes and national federations.
“On his first day after assuming additional charge as director general of the PSB, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, who is also secretary of the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division, ordered the simplification and reduction of the affiliation form for national sports federations,” said a press release issued by PSB.
“The revised format has been made more concise and user-friendly while maintaining transparency and compliance with governance requirements,” the statement added.
In another measure, the proforma for no-objection certificates (NOC) and related documentation for athletes and sports federations travelling abroad for international competitions, training camps and sporting events has been reviewed and streamlined.
The move is expected to reduce unnecessary delays, minimise paperwork and improve coordination between federations and the PSB, the board added.
Mohyuddin said the objective was to promote athlete-centred governance, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, improve efficiency and encourage greater participation of Pakistani athletes and federations in international sporting activities.
The PSB said it would continue pursuing institutional reforms focused on transparency, better service delivery, digitisation and ease of access for all stakeholders in the sports sector.
