GUJRAT: The University of Gujrat (UoG) hosted a series of events at its Hafiz Hayat Campus to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic and friendly relations between Pakistan and China.

Organised by the varsity’s Student Services Centre (SSC), in collaboration with student societies and academic departments, the celebrations paid tribute to the enduring friendship between the two nations and introduced students to the diverse dimensions of this historic partnership.

The commemorations began with a symbolic walk led by Registrar Muhammad Naeem Butt, and joined by faculty members, students and senior administrative officials.

The walk reflected solidarity with the People’s Republic of China and reaffirmed the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Gujrat, Waqas Safdar Sikandari, as chief guest.

In his address, Mr Sikandrani highlighted that Pakistan-China relations have remained steadfast since the inception, with China consistently standing by Pakistan and winning the hearts of its people.

On the occasion, the Department of Visual Communication organised a coin and stamp design competition, themed around cultural and strategic Pakistan–China ties.

Additionally, the Hayatian Quiz Society held a general knowledge contest, where students in teams explored the history, culture and contemporary developments of both nations, including China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and bilateral cooperation.
