MPA injured in attack, four aides die

TOBA TEK SINGH: Former provincial minister and sitting PML-N MPA from from Rajana Col retired Sardar Ayub Gadhi was shot at and injured critically while his four aides died in an attack by his rivals on Sunday night.

Reports said the MPA was sitting with his friends in his outhouse (Dera) in Chak 184-GB when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire. Gadhi and others were shifted to the DHQ Hospital where doctors pronounced his companions as dead on arrival while Gadhi’s condition was critical. The slain were identified as Zaigham Abbas (41), Nadim Noor (45), Khaliqdad (49) and Haq Nawaz (55). The number of attackers were said to be eight riding four motorcycles. A police spokesperson said attackers had an old enmity with Gadhi. He said raids were underway to arrest the attackers.
