10 injured in roof-collapse incidents during rain

KASUR: At least 10 people, including three women, suffered injuries in three different roof collapse incidents in the district during the heavy rain spell on Monday night.

As per Rescue 1122, in the first incident, four persons were injured when the roof of a room, where they were present, collapsed during the rain at Tara Gar village, in the limits of Khudian police station.

The injured -- Abdul Hanan (28), Akram (37), Mazhar Ali (42) and Haseeb (10) – were pulled out of the debris and shifted to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital by rescuers for treatment.

In a separate incident, five persons, including three women, suffered injuries when the roof of a room of their house, where they were asleep, caved in after a wall of a neighbouring house collapsed on it, amid rain in the Habibabad area of Pattoki.

The injured, identified as Laiba Bibi (15), Bushra Bibi (55), Kausar Bibi (50), Abdul Malik (55), and Ramzan (21), were rushed to the Pattoki THQ Hospital, where they are said to be stable now.

In the third incident, Faisal (40) suffered critical injuries when the roof of the room he was asleep in collapsed in Alipura locality in the limits of Pattoki police station.

Rescue 1122 teams, arriving at the scene, rescued the injured man trapped under the debris in critical condition and shifted him to Pattoki THQ Hospital for medical care.

Police are looking into the matter.
