ISLAMABAD: Taking action on the complaints of plot owners, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Sunday conducted an operation to remove illegal occupation from their plots in Al-Haram City.

According to the NAB, the action was carried out on the directives of the NAB Director General Islamabad/Rawalpindi Region Waqar Chohan, in collaboration with local revenue authorities and Rawalpindi Cantonment Police. During the operation, the identified plots were vacated while maintaining law and order.

The plots were reportedly under occupation attributed to another private housing scheme, although the land had been allocated for plot owners of Al-Haram City.

Approximately 200 kanals of valuable land had been under illegal occupation, resulting in nearly 300 plot owners deprived of their allotted plots. Relief is being provided to them in phases. The operation is said to be part of ongoing measures taken to address irregularities and illegal occupation in the housing sector, aimed at safeguarding citizens’ rights and supporting the restoration of public confidence.

Following on-site verification, necessary steps have been initiated to facilitate the transfer of possession of the vacated plots to the rightful owners. The Al-Haram City administration has been directed to complete the levelling of the affected land and hand over possession to the owners within one week.

The housing scheme’s administration has also been instructed to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe and submit a report to ensure the timely completion of the transfer of possession.
