Man killed during robbery

ISLAMABAD: A man was killed and another injured during separate robberies in capital, police said.

In the first incident, a gang of robbers murdered a man during a robbery in the Koral area. The deceased was identified as Munib Qurashi.

Three motorcycle riders armed with weapons appeared in front of the victim when he, along with his friend Noman, was walking on a main road in Ghouri Town, Phase 7. The gunmen held both of them at gunpoint and looted a mobile from Noman.

Later, the gunmen looted another mobile from Qurashi. In response, he put up resistance, which annoyed the robbers, and one of the gunmen started firing.

As a result, Qurashi sustained a bullet injury to his chest and died at the spot where the robbers escaped.

In another incident, gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery in the Khanna area. The injured man was identified as Ameer Bahudar.

Two armed persons intercepted Bahudar when he reached Farooq Azam Chowk on his motorcycle and held him up at gunpoint. The robbers asked him to hand over his motorcycle, but he put up resistance. As a result, the robbers started firing at Bahudar, and he sustained two bullet injuries, one in his abdomen and wrist.

Furthermore, a gang of four robbers robbed a motorcycle, mobile phones, and cash from a man and his son in the Jhangi Syedan area.
