KARACHI: A huge fire erupted in an industrial area of Nooriabad on Wednesday night that could not be controlled till late night, however, no injury to anyone was reported.

Rescue-1122 spokesperson Hassaanul Haseeb Khan said that the fire broke out in a warehouse spread over 4000-5000 square yards in the industrial area near Faisal Mills where raw material and scrap of the industries was being stored.

He said it was an open area, which was covered with walls only. The fire rapidly spread because of wind direction. He said six fire tenders of the FWO and Rescue-1122 managed to control the fire up to 70pc till late night. The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.

Mr Khan opined that in few recent fires, it has been noticed that extreme heat may trigger the fire. However, significant losses to the material were reported.
