Putin meets FM Araghchi, voices hope for peace in Iran: state media

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saint Petersburg, Iran’s Tasnim and Mehr outlets report.

Putin said Russia hoped the Iranian people would weather what he described as a “difficult period” and that peace would prevail, Reuters reported, citing Russia’s state-run RIA news agency.

He added that Russia would do everything in the interests of Iran and other countries in the region.
