TAXILA: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Sunday inaugurated a solar-powered water supply scheme in Langar village and Kot Chhajji–Langar road project in the Jand town of Attock, reaffirming his commitment to the development of rural and remote areas of the district.
Upon his arrival in Jand, the governor received a warm welcome.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the solar water supply scheme, the governor said that the development of the Attock district remained among his top priorities and that concrete steps were being taken to ensure the provision of basic facilities to the public.
He emphasised that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right of every citizen, adding that the solar water supply scheme in Langar village was part of broader efforts to address this essential need.
Later, the governor performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kot Chhajji to Langar road project, which was inaugurated during a well-attended public gathering. A large number of people participated in the event, where the governor also addressed attendees and highlighted the importance of improved road infrastructure for connectivity and economic growth.
