ISLAMABAD: Gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery while culprits, including impersonators, looted cash and valuables worth over Rs10 million in five strikes, police said.
In the first incident, robbers shot and injured a man during a robbery at Golra. The injured was identified as Zainul Hassan.
The incident happened in Gulshan-i-Khudadad when three persons armed with weapons intercepted his vehicle and held him and his friend at gunpoint and snatched two mobile phones and Rs8,000 cash from them. The robbers opened fire when they cried for help.
As a result one of them sustained bullet injury in his left leg and fell on road and the robbers escaped with the looted items.
In another incident, culprits in the garb of police officials looted cash and mobile phones from a man in F-11. They came in Vigo and intercepted Mohammad Yahya and introduced themselves as police officials.
Later they held Yahya at gunpoint and looted cash and two mobile phone and escaped.
Moreover, a gang of robbers snatched a motorcycle and mobile phones from a man on Islamabad Expressway near Iqbal Town. Three persons armed with weapons intercepted Zohaib when he reached the pedestrian bridge on a motorcycle and held him up at gunpoint.
Similarly, robbers looted Rs108,180 in cash from a rider of an online shopping app at Federal Town.
Furthermore, burglars stole cash and valuables worth Rs6.15 million from a house in Soan Garden. The incident took place at the house of Fahad Majid.
