LAHORE: A judicial magistrate at Model Town courts on Friday handed over a woman, accused of killing her three minor children, to police on a five-day physical remand for investigation.

Ichhra police produced the suspect, Rida Fatima, before the court of Judicial Magistrate Irshad Hussain Sabzwari, seeking her 14-day physical remand.

The investigating officer told the magistrate that physical custody of the suspect was required for investigation, polygraph and medical tests.

However, the magistrate granted a five-day physical remand of the woman to the police.

The magistrate also directed the police to produce the suspect again on April 29.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly killed the children in reaction to her bitter relations with her husband.

The murdered children were identified as Momina Batool (5), her brother Momin Raza (4), and their one-and-a-half-year old sister Umme Habiba.

BAIL GRANTED: A judicial magistrate granted post-arrest bail to a bus conductor accused of assaulting a girl passenger.

The magistrate allowed the bail to the suspect, Sajjad Ali, and directed him to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000.

Earlier, Chuhng police produced the suspect before the court on expiry of his physical remand.

The investigating officer requested the court to send the suspect to jail on judicial remand, saying the investigation has been completed.

Noting that the offence was bailable, the magistrate ordered release of the suspect on bail, subject to furnishing surety bonds.
