TOBA TEK SINGH: Three suspects were killed in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in the limits of Saddar Police Station at Nankana Sahib on Friday.

According to a CCD spokesperson, a team signalled the four suspects to stop. They opened fire from their motorcycles.

In retaliation, police also fired in self-protection. When firing stopped, police found three suspects in an injured condition.

The CCD claimed that the suspects were injured by firing of their own accomplices.

The injured suspects were identified as Qaiser (22), resident of Isa Nagar, Sheikhupura, Omar Hayat (28), a resident of Kalpi Dogran, Sheikhupura, and Muhammad Sharif (30), a resident of Shahkot.

Qaiser and Omar Hayat were wanted by the police in several cases of robbery while Sharif was a drug dealer wanted by the police in a number of cases.

The injured suspects were shifted to DHQ hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
