RAWALPINDI, June 29: Sadanul Haq and Abid Ali set up a clash in the juniors under-17 singles final of the first Shalimar Club Open tennis championship after recording semifinal wins on Thursday.

The talented Abid knocked out Talha Asif Dar 4-2, 4-2 while Sadan overcame a challenge from Asif Ali Khan Burki 5-4 (5), 4-0.

Sadan also checked into the under-15s singles final defeating Bilal Mushtaq 8-2 and will play cousin Jibranul Haq who edged Badrul Islam 8-5.

The under-13s final will pit Salar Ahmed against Jibran who beat Ahmed Chaudhry 8-2. Salar on the other hand scored an 8-5 win against Kashanul Haq.

Juniors under-17 semifinals: Sadanul Haq bt Asif Ali Khan Burki 5-4 (5), 4-0, Abid Ali bt Talha Asif Dar 4-2, 4-2

Juniors doubles semifinals under-17: Abid Ali-Talha Dar bt Amir Sohail-Bilal Mushtaq 8-4, Sadanul Haq-Jibranul Haq bt Haris-Ijlal 8-4

Boys under-15 semifinals: Sadanul Haq bt Bilal Mushtaq 8-2, Jibranul Haq bt Badrul Islam 8-5

Boys under-13 semifinals: Jibranul Haq bt Ahmed Chaudhry 8-2, Salar Ahmed bt Kashanul Haq 8-5.

Veterans singles: Azam Jameel-Inamul Haq bt IN Ahmad-AM Shah 6-2, 6-2.
