2 brothers poisoned

ISLAMABAD, June 29: The local police registered a case against unknown culprits for killing two brothers after giving them poison, police said on Thursday. Hamida Bibi, lodged a complaint with Shahazad Town police stating that two unknown persons killed her children Ghulam Shabir, 25, and Mohammad Nadeem, 15, after giving them poison near Zia Mosque.

She said despite Rs100,000, valuables, documents and mobiles phones were also stolen from the house.

The bodies of Shabir and Nadeem, residents of Toba Tek Sing, were found by police in mysterious circumstance on June 9.

Preliminary investigation suggested that the two brothers had come to their room at around 11pm after purchasing eggs and cold drinks from a shop located in the area for dinner.

However, they died during their sleep.

Police took some samples of the remaining curry and soft drink.

The samples have been sent to the chemical examiner Lahore for detection of poison.
