LAHORE: A boxing ring, dedicated only for women, was inaugurated at the Lahore College for Women University here on Friday.
Exclusively designed for female pugilists, the facility will support both training and competitive opportunities in a safe environment.
Established under the Commonwealth Sport Game Changers Project, the initiative reflects a strong commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and the advancement of women’s participation in sport across the country.
The venue was inaugurated by Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Arif Hasan. POA Secretary Khalid Mahmood and the officials of the Pakistan Boxing Federation were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sumera Sattar, LCWU director sports, welcomed distinguished guests, officials, athletes, and students, and reaffirmed varsity’s commitment to advancing women’s sport through modern infrastructure.
Addressing the ceremony, POA President Arif described the project as a landmark for women’s sport in Pakistan.
